What's New
WEATHERSENSE
This feature searches the internet collecting weather data, specifically ET values from multiple weather sources, and provides local weather information to nearly any Calsense customer in the United States. It's available in the latest version of Command Center software.
During weather sharing, the CommServer connects to the Internet and retrieves ET and/or rain data for the last 24 hours from the closest weather station to your location. Then, it's shared with each of the controllers youve selected. For each controller, you add either a street address or its latitude and longitude.
Weathersense is offered as a no-charge service. The utilization and sharing of weather data through the internet to the Calsense irrigation controllers is another way we give our customers a Water Management System That Works.
GIS Mapping
Calsense now offers a new integrated GIS Viewer included in the latest version of the Calsense Command Center software. This feature visually represents a user’s controllers on a map using existing GIS (Geographic Information System) data. Highly customizable, this feature shows the status of each controller including mainline breaks and flow alerts through the use of color-coded icons. Additional information about each is also available via a built-in legend and by right-clicking controllers on the map. Contact us for more details.
Enhanced -F Option
The -F controller option is the ability to interface with up to three flow meters and master valves wired to a single controller. Now with new software engineering the -F option in conjunction with a bypass manifold install, the controller is able to read and monitor low flowing station zones on a large mainline. This feature dynamically manages flow through the appropriate size flow meter using actual flow rates, not expected flow rates, providing accurate flow monitoring, specific station alerts and detailed water usage reports.

Featured Project
GREEN RIVER COMMUNITY COLLEGE TURNING "GREEN" - Two grounds personnel were maintaining
an 85 acre campus plus 3 satellite
locations. Irrigation consisted of
hundreds of feet of hose connected to
quick couplers and hose bibs. Athletic
fields were watered with agricultural-type
hand lines. Communication regarding
leaks and broken pipes depended on
phone calls from observant people at the
satellite locations, and on reports coming
into the maintenance office if a problem
wasn't spotted. An untold number of
gallons of water gushed, leaked or blew
away in the wind. In the summer months
there weren't enough manpower or work
hours to meet the water demand to keep
landscape healthy. That's how operations
were when first employed by the
College. The need for an efficient, environmentally-
conscious water management
system for irrigation that would
save water, time and money became apparent.
Green River Community College is
located in Auburn, Washington about 35
miles south of Seattle and enrolls over
11,000 students. Over the years, the college's
green initiatives have evolved and
programs have been adopted to reduce
operating expenses... Read More
