Flexible and robust, the cellular communication is an intelligent gateway that automatically detects if the connection to the cloud is lost and then reestablishes its connection. Designed for the harshest of environments, this device ensures you can remotely manage your controllers nearly anywhere within the United States.

Features

  • Delivers reliable, long distance data communication via the Internet
  • Doesn’t require trenching or wires

Accessories

An antenna is required when using the Cellular communication option.

  • The Calsense Cellular Stubby antenna, model GR-STUBBY, included with the CS3-GR-KIT is a 3-dBi omnidirectional surface mount antenna designed for all environments and applications
  • The Calsense Cellular Stick antenna, model GR-STICK-5, is a 5-dBi quad-band fiberglass omnidirectional antenna used to extend the range of a cellular device
  • The Calsense Cellular Yagi antenna, model GR-YAGI-11, is an 11-dBi directional antenna used to increase connectivity in sites with poor cellular coverage

Note: LMR-400-DB or LMR-600-DB cable is required if mounting a stick or yagi antenna.

Optional Equipment

Calsense also offers other equipment, including surge protection for cellular radio antennas.

  • The Calsense Antenna Surge Protector, model ANT-PROT, is a waterproof, ultra-low capacitance gas discharge tube-based surge arrestor device that protects the modem and controller from direct lightning strikes. Used in conjunction with Calsense stick or yagi antennas, the device is installed in series with the antenna cable and forces any electrical surges to ground. Note: An ANT-PROT is required when using an GR-STICK-5 antenna or GR-YAGI-11 antenna.
