Executive Summary

Arizona State University’s Biodesign C building was awarded the national Best of the Best Project in the Higher Education/Research category by ENR (Engineering News Record), a publication covering engineering and construction news. As the latest addition to the Biodesign Institute’s complex, the building is expected to receive LEED Platinum status for its environmentally friendly qualities, becoming the second building in Arizona to achieve this distinction. The Calsense Resource Management System is installed and active at Biodesign C, providing smart water management for the building. The world’s first compact X-ray free electron laser is included in the building, which holds promise for clean energy production and disease treatment discoveries.
